250 Pairs Join Dance Competition at Kefamenanu, Some Come from East Timor



A total of 250 couples, male and female, young to old, took part in a dance competition in the yard of the office of the Regent of North Central Timor (TTU), East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), Friday (11/24/2017) evening.

As reported, the dance competition was held in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism and TTU Regional Government, in a series of Wonderful Indonesia activities.

The head of the committee who is also the Secretary of the TTU Regency Tourism Office Yohanes Sanak said, the dance competition was held for two days, 24-25 November 2017.

According to Yohanes, there were 411 pairs of participants who registered in the competition and 250 pairs were present on the first day.

 The rest may tomorrow (today, Saturday) just participate, "said Yohanes.

Participants who took part in the dance competition, continued Yohanes, came from the districts of North Central Timor, South Central Timor, Malacca and Belu. Even John said, as many as 37 couples came from the country of Timor Leste.

On the first day the competing categories are general and on the second day special categories (professional dances).

According to Yohanes, the dance competition was held for the first time to increase the attractiveness of tourists, increase tourist visits, as well as promote tourism in the TTU area which borders directly with the Oune District, Timor Leste.

Deputy Regent of North Central Timor, Aloysius Kobes, appreciated the dance competition and he hoped that the activity would be held routinely at TTU.

Meanwhile Head of the Department of Nature Tourism Market Data Analysis Ministry of Tourism, Muh Khairul Anwar said, this activity aims to attract as many tourists as possible.

The Ministry of Tourism, continued Anwar, has a target of 15 million foreign tourists visiting 2017 and archipelago tourists of 265 million so that this is a shared responsibility of all parties.
